ABOUT

Emperor Newton

Many people anticipated his death at birth. Newton started battling for his survival in the womb. His mother’s life was horribly difficult. In Ghana, West Africa, the mother used to sell used clothing. From the sixth month of his gestation, the mother started seeing blood seeping out of her nose every day she went out to sell. She was so impoverished that she spent the whole of her pregnancy not visiting the hospital. The mother was unaware that the reason for the blood oozing from the nose was that the baby’s head was deforming in her womb.

About NEWTON DUAH YEBOAH

The father was an impecunious farmer. Life was so difficult for them that they could not feed themselves. Newton’s mom picked food from the ground and ate it twice on different occasions. “I had walked one sunny day and no one had bought anything. I was very hungry, and I saw a doughnut (bofrot) in which a portion was bitten and it was lying on the ground close to stagnant water. Flies were on it, but I dropped my apron, pick it and ate.”
-Says the Mother. Indeed life was a vale of tears for the parents.

From the frontal bone across the occipital bone of his head was so soft and felt mushy and squashy. The head swelled about twice bigger than normal.

Newton was given some herbs, and the head began to harden, but there was an internal sore that was not treated. Little Newton could not eat, and he had acute diarrhea. He became very tiny. He could not sit on his own without falling because his head was bigger than his body.

A day came, and Little Newton was struggling to breathe. One elderly woman could tell that the way he was breathing, if something was not done right away, he would die before the following day. She gave money to the mother and directed her to see one herbalist for help. The herbalist said there was no hope, but she would try. By the grace of God, little Newton was able to cry, fed on the mother’s breast milk, and slept peacefully for the first time after the woman administered some herbal medicine to him on that very day.

Little Newton grew up not knowing his biological father. He traveled to seek for greener pasture in Europe when Newton turned a year and three months. His intention was to come for Little Newton and his mother someday. The mother solely raised Newton and his kid brother, whom she was pregnant with at the time the father traveled.

Newton dropped out of school in the second year of his senior high school education for lack of money. He sat for a remedial examination as a private candidate and passed. He wanted to study economics at the university. His father’s brother, who promised to see him through the university, denied him help, saying he is not done taking care of his children, so he cannot take care of someone’s child.

Newton enrolled himself in a professional accounting course (ACCA) upon the advice of a friend. He did laborer’s work to see himself through, and that was how he became an accountant. He practiced accounting for some years, starting as an account officer, being promoted to account supervisor, and later becoming a hotel cost controller in Africa.
